Invitation to conference

Dear colleagues!

We invite you to participate in the international conference "Methods of neogeography and virtual environment in visualization of geo-data" (GeyserValley2009).
Conference is devoted to memory of Tatjana Ustinova (1913-06.09.2009), discoverer of the Valley of Geysers.
Conference is organized by Institute of Computing for Physics and Technology (ICPT, Protvino) on the base of Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of Far Eastern Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences (IVaS FEB RAS, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky) with the support of Federal State Institution "Kronotsky State Natural Biosphere Reserve" and Russian Foundation for Basic Research (grant 09-07-06042-г).
Conference will take place on September 15-17, 2009 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Russia, at the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology FEB RAS.
Conference will include outdoor scientific workshop "Situation awareness concept and landslide danger monitoring" in the Valley of Geysers, devoted to 75th anniversary of the foundation of Kronotsky reserve.

GeyserValley2009 will provide a forum for sharing of ideas and results in scientific visualization in geosciences (geology, geography, ecology).
We invite original contributions addressing (but not limited to) one or more of the following topics:
   1. Using methods of neo-geography and open geo-interfaces for visualization of geo-data
   2. Integration and interaction of GIS and open geo-interfaces
   3. Methods of virtual environment and interactive storytelling in visualization of geo-data
   4. Virtual reconstruction of natural objects, static and dynamic visualization in geo-context
   5. Visualization of natural disaster forecasts and aftermaths for situational awareness systems
